This week in topic, we have been using coordinates to locate countries involved in World War 2. We have learnt all about allies, axis and neutral countries and the roles they played in the war. In art, we have read the story of ‘The Little Ships’ telling the tale of the ships which were involved in the evacuation of Dunkirk from the Kent town of Deal. Showing empathy, we imagined that we were the narrator of the book (a young girl who disguises herself to board a ship) and shared her thoughts through a thought corridor. After this, we identified key events and story mapped. 

Next week we will be: 

• Continuing to learn dances from the 1920/30/40/50’s in PE, 

• Investigating how to alter the brightness of a bulb in an electrical circuit, 

• Starting place value in maths, 

• Commenting on how mood is created in watercolour paintings in art.
