Year 5

I want my mummy!
We have been learning about the fact that Ancient Egyptians believed they would travel to the afterlife when they died. To enable them to do this, the bodies were preserved through the process of mummification.
Rich people went to great lengths to preserve dead bodies to keep them in good condition to make the afterlife journey (unfortunately for poorer people, this process was very expensive).
We learned about the variety of complex steps involved, the huge amount of materials needed and which organs were put into which canopic jars. We were able to order the steps and write instructions just in case we wanted to make a mummy!
