Year 5

Theatre visit
This week, Year 5 enjoyed an exciting trip to the Polka Theatre to watch “Who Let the Gods Out?”, based on the much-loved book by Maz Evans. The lively and imaginative performance brought Greek mythology to life, introducing us to a host of well-known gods and goddesses in a fresh, humorous way. The show cleverly combined modern-day adventure with ancient myth, helping the children make brilliant links to their learning about Ancient Greece in Year 4. They were thrilled to recognise characters such as Zeus and Hermes, and it was wonderful to see their prior knowledge deepen their understanding and enjoyment of the story. The fast-paced action, creative staging and laugh-out-loud moments kept everyone thoroughly entertained from start to finish. The children represented the school beautifully and returned buzzing with enthusiasm, eager to talk about their favourite scenes and characters. It was a fantastic way to enrich their learning beyond the classroom.
