Year 5

Easter Experience
This week, Year 5 visited New Malden Baptist Church for a fascinating “Easter Experience.” The children took part in a range of hands-on activities that helped them explore the meaning of Easter and learn about both historical and modern Christians, discovering how their faith influenced their lives. One highlight was moving through dark tents lit with ultraviolet light, where pupils examined special artefacts and symbols linked to the Easter story. The visit also included a powerful dramatic recreation of events from Holy Week, told from the perspectives of people who might have been there, including a servant from the Last Supper, a Roman centurion, Peter the disciple and Mary Magdalene. This immersive experience helped bring the story to life and encouraged thoughtful reflection. The children were engaged, curious and respectful throughout, making it a memorable and meaningful trip for everyone involved.
