This week in Year 5, we were thrilled to complete our Ancient Egyptian canopic jars! The children carefully decorated their jars using paints inspired by traditional Ancient Egyptian colours and patterns - exploring the meanings behind the vibrant designs and symbols used thousands of years ago. They also added beautifully detailed hieroglyphs from their own original designs, making each piece unique and personal. The class showed fantastic creativity, patience and pride throughout the project. It was wonderful to see their excitement as the jars finally came together. Everyone was incredibly proud of their finished work and could not wait to take their masterpieces home to share with their families. What a fantastic way to celebrate all the hard work and learning that has taken place during our Ancient Egypt topic! Next up is Design Technology where we will be inspired by Ancient Egyptian clothing and make our own piece of sewn textiles.
