Year 5

Kingston Grammar visit

This week, Year 5 enjoyed an exciting visit to Kingston Grammar School, where they took part in a series of fascinating Ancient Egypt workshops. The children became detectives of the past as they learned how to read and write hieroglyphics, discovered the intricate process of mummification and explored what happened to ordinary Ancient Egyptians after they died. They were particularly intrigued by the question, “Did Ancient Egyptians really love cats?” and enjoyed finding out why cats were so important in Egyptian society and religion. The workshops brought history to life through hands-on activities and engaging discussions, helping the children deepen their understanding of this remarkable civilisation. It was a memorable and enriching day and the pupils represented the school brilliantly throughout the visit.
