Year 5

Design & Technology

This week, Year 5 proudly completed their Design and Technology project by creating their own Ancient Egyptian-themed tunics. Throughout the project, the children developed a range of practical sewing skills, including using a running stitch, mastering a back stitch, attaching decorative beads and joining two pieces of fabric together. They carefully planned their designs, taking inspiration from the bold patterns, symbols, and colours of Ancient Egyptian clothing and artwork to create unique and eye-catching tunics. The project encouraged creativity, patience, and perseverance, while helping pupils build confidence in their textile skills. It has been wonderful to see the care and enthusiasm they have shown throughout the process; they are extremely proud of their finished garments. Well done, Year 5, on producing such fantastic pieces of work and demonstrating excellent craftsmanship from start to finish!
