Year 5 have made an exciting start to our new class book, Treason by Berlie Doherty! 

Over the coming weeks, all of our Guided Reading and English lessons will be based around this fantastic story. We have already been busy exploring the book and making predictions about what might happen.

We began by carefully looking at the front cover and thinking about what clues we could spot. The children then made their own predictions about what they thought the story might be about. We were impressed by the imaginative ideas and thoughtful reasoning they shared!

Next, we read the blurb on the back of the book to see whether it confirmed any of our predictions or gave us any new clues. The children were brilliant at using the information they had gathered to develop and change their ideas.

We have now started reading the story and, so far, we are absolutely loving it! There have already been plenty of questions, predictions and discussions, and the children are desperate to find out what happens next.

We can't wait to continue our journey through Treason and see where the story takes us!
