Blossom Green and Red

Maths in Blossom Green and Red

In Blossom Green, the children are learning more about the composition of numbers 1-10 and how to add single digits to 10; they are enjoying using manipulatives to help them with this, such as Numicon, number beads and tens frames.

In Blossom Red, the children are consolidating their rote counting to 100 and learning about their number bonds to 10, working with the tens frames to support them with this, and developing their understanding of the different ways to represent 10, such as using 1 tens dien or 10 single unit dienes. We have been further examining what represents the same value of ten using money and rulers: one 10p = same value as ten 1p and one 10mm = same value as 1cm.
