We have been learning about Diwali, the Festival of Light, and discovering why and how people around the world celebrate this special occasion. We explored some of the traditions, including lighting beautiful 'diyas', decorating homes with colourful, 'rangoli' patterns and spending time with family and friends.

We also learnt about Bonfire Night and Guy Fawkes, discovering why we celebrate on 5th November and why people enjoy watching fireworks light up the night sky.

The children got creative and made their own colourful light and firework pictures using a variety of different materials. We had lots of fun experimenting with colours, textures and different techniques to create our own sparkling firework displays!
