Year 2

Maths and more...
The children came back after their half-term break, raring to go and refreshed. We heard tales of cinema trips, new puppies and kittens, Butlins, trips to the park, picnics and more. It sounds as if they all had a wonderful break.
In English, we have continued our learning about pirates and the story of the Jolly Roger. The children have been learning to write a wanted poster.
In maths, the children have been working on learning about time. They have focussed on time to the hour and half an hour, and then quarter past and quarter to. If you get a chance to help reinforce this at home, please do. Next week we will be revisiting multiplication and division.
On Tuesday, the children had a fabulous time in their Djembe drumming lesson, learning to keep the beat going and even how to change rhythm.
Plea:
If you have any empty plastic bottles (all different sizes needed), please send them in. They will be needed for our upcoming class assemblies. Thank you in advance!
We will also be asking for donations of fruit and veg - we will be making both fruit and vegetable kebabs next week.
Please see the posters on the classroom door to see what we will need and how you can help.
