Year 2
Maths and more...
The children in Year 2 have had another busy week.
They have started their new text in English. The Three Little Pigs by Mara Alperin. So far, they have made predictions and have learnt how to use expanded noun phrases to describe the wolf. Next week, they will use this knowledge to describe how the three little pigs build their houses.
In maths, the children have been learning about adding and subtracting through 10, and from ten. Because there are two methods to reach the same answer, they've found these difficult concepts to master. We will practise again next week.
In PSHE, the children learnt about what a balanced meal is made up of and how to keep a healthy diet. They were shocked to discover there were 9 sugar cubes in a can of Coke. That is double what a child should have in a day!
In computing, children have been learning about keeping safe online. This includes not sharing personal information.
We have continued looking at different religions and have looked at Hinduism this week.
Thank you for your continued support.
Please try to read at home with your child 5 days out of 7. We only ask you to comment 3 times, just sign the other two.
Mathletics has also been updated. Do encourage your child to access this. We have a whole school competition and the classes with the most Mathletics points get extra play.
