Year 2

Maths and more...

This week, the children have been learning the 2x table. Learning to multiply by 2, representing it in different ways, and consolidating their knowledge of the product and factor in a number sentence.

Next week, the children will be focussing on the 10x table.

In English, we have continued our learning of Harvey Slumfenberger. In today's lesson, the children acted out the different scenes depicting Father Christmas meeting people with modes of transport to help him reach the top of the Roly-Poly Mountain.

We have our trip to New Malden Baptist Church for the Christmas Journey. The children really enjoy walking through a live-action Christmas story. There is also a craft for them to make and take home. We will be walking to and from the church on the morning of the 16th December 2025. Thank you to those of you who have already volunteered your time to walk with us.

A lot of effort and concentration has been given this week to the practise of our KS1 Christmas production 'Five Gold Rings'. It will be regular uniform on the day, but could you please add something sparkly to their jumper? You could replace their school jumper with a Christmas jumper if you wish, or just add some tinsel, hair bows, a bow tie...? Anything to make them a little more festive! Please do not go and buy anything especially for the performance.  Performance reminders: 17th December at 9am and 2:30pm.

Thank you for your continued support,
