Year 2

Learning in Year 2
What a busy week!
The children have been learning about habitats in science. This work will be consolidated in April when Year 2 have a wonderful opportunity to go to London Wetlands Centre in Barnes. It's a fantastic trip, and they even get to see otters being fed!
In geography, the children have been revisiting their learning of the 7 continents, the oceans of the world and the equator. They have used this knowledge to think about the climate in Peru (linking to our English work on Paddington), and also where the hot and cold countries are in the world.
In maths, the children have continued looking at the relationship between the 5 and 10 times tables and also consolidating their knowledge of part, part whole models.
Year 2 enjoyed reading the story of Paddington in English. They loved acting out scenes from the book, drawing fabulous story maps, and then adding key phrases and sentences to help them with their future writing. Pictured are children in 2RK adding adverbs and adjectives to nouns and verbs.
Have a lovely weekend.
