This week during our carpet sessions, the children really enjoyed our book of the week, Dear Zoo. The children have been practising good listening by trying to guess the animals by the sound they hear. We have also been encouraging the children to say the names of the animals and repeat the sounds. We even had some children acting out parts of the story. We have also introduced a different element during our carpet session of learning the days of the week and identifying the weather outside.

Outside, the children loved the climbing frame and slide. We have been practising our climbing skills, as at first, the children found it a bit tricky to climb to the top of the ladder, but with determination we got there. During this time, we have been learning about rules and how we ensure we are taking turns.

Next week our book is Oh Dear, which tells the story of living on a farm and looking after the animals.
