Making Play dough
This week we have been very busy. We started our week by making autumn play dough. We followed a recipe and the children helped to measure out the flour, salt, oil and food colouring. We then combined this all together and the children gave it a good mix and stir, and it was ready to play with. If you would like to have a go at making play dough at home with your little one, the recipe is below.
mix together
2 cups flour
Half a cup of salt
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 cup of warm water with food colouring (add 1/2 a cup and add more as needed)
Outside we played lots of games together. The children loved playing Frisbee and learning how to pass the Frisbee to each other. We then had a game of kicking the ball to each other and we also started our daily run this week to keep active. This involved the children running together and following instructions. We also made some wonderful chalk drawings together. The children wanted to draw their families. Then we had a discussion about our families and who to draw, how to draw a face and what is needed: eyes, nose, mouth etc. Some children drew rainbows and identified the colours of a rainbow.
Next week we will be reading Goat Goes To Playgroup. The children will hear about all the fun activities Goat takes part in while at playgroup.
