Bonfire Night
This week we have been learning about Bonfire Night and the children have been making their own firework pictures. We used different colours of paint and a paper roll to create the bright and colourful fireworks. We then added glitter to make our pictures sparkle. Afterwards, we read a story about firework night and learnt new words like whizz, bang and pop as the fireworks go across the sky. In our builder's tray, the children had the opportunity to make patterns in the glitter. We had zigzags, circles and spirals.
Outside, we did a science experience to find out more about fireworks. We added two ingredients together and watched as it erupted like a volcano into the air. The children were so excited and then we discussed what had happened. During circle time, the children shared their experiences of watching the fireworks in the sky.
Next week we will be reading Pip and Posy and learning about making new friends and the adventures they will have.
