This week the children were so excited about the puddles in the playground, so we placed on our waterproof clothing and off we went to have fun outside. We encouraged the children to jump in with two feet, one foot or jump over the puddle to develop their balance and leg strength. The children were also filling up buckets and jugs to transport the water down water pipes we had built in the playground. We thought of new ways to use the equipment and the children rolled balls down the water pipes and chased them across the playground. 

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we have been talking about the people we love during our carpet time. We also incorporated friendships and being kind to each other and read a story related to this. Carrying on from this in our art area, the children have been busy making Valentines cards for someone special in their lives. 

Chinese New Year is approaching and next week we will be reading a story about Chinese New Year and learning about celebrations.
