Pre School

Chinese New Year
In Pre School this week we have been learning about Chinese New Year. The children have been really engaged in listening to our story of the week and asking questions during our carpet sessions. They particularly liked the fireworks and the many colours they could see. We listened to sounds of fireworks and learnt words such as wizz, bang and pop.
We also learnt about a dragon and moved our bodies to music like the dragon in our story. In our art area, the children had the opportunity to make their own lanterns. We decorated them using lots of glitter and sparkles. We also learnt about eating food with chopsticks and the children practised picking up objects using chopsticks, which took lots of concentration and practice.
After half-term our book will be We're Going On A Bear Hunt.
