Pre School

Toddle Waddle

This week, the children really enjoyed reading Toddle Waddle. They joined in with the repetitive language as they listened to the story about a trip to the beach.

As the children enjoyed the story so much, we decided to bring it to life by introducing some everyday objects to represent the different sounds. The children explored using a bell to make the “ting-a-ling” sound, cups to create a “clip-clop” sound, and flip-flops to make the familiar sound of walking along.

This story helped the children to explore different sounds, develop their language skills and join in with the rhythm and repetition of the story, and it was so nice to see them enjoying the story independently with their friends.

Next week, we will be reading The Stick Man and The Pumpkin Hunt. Alongside sharing this story, the children will have the opportunity to explore real pumpkins using their senses.
