This week, the children focused on number 4. They built towers using blocks and were challenged to see who could build the tallest tower, developing their counting and problem-solving skills.

We also recapped numbers 1 to 3, and some children were able to recognise numbers from their environment, sharing where they had seen numbers outside of nursery.

In literacy, we continued with our “Whatever Next” story. The children listened carefully and joined in with familiar parts of the book.

We learnt a new vocabulary word: “colander”, discussing what it is used for and where we might find it at home.

During our topic discussion, we talked about going on a picnic and shared ideas about what we need to take with us, such as food, drinks, and a blanket.

The children showed good engagement and enjoyed sharing their ideas with their friends.
