Wow Said the Owl

What a lovely week we have had in Nursery! The children have been busy exploring rain, colour and capacity through lots of exciting hands-on experiences.

We have been enjoying the story, Wow! Said the Owl, which has inspired lots of conversations and activities around colours and rainbows. The children have also been learning a new rainbow song and practising the Makaton signs for colours.

Today, the children took part in a wonderful sensory story, where they were immersed in each colour through different sensory experiences. It was lovely to see the children joining in, exploring and responding to the different colours and textures.

We have also been little scientists and artists this week! The children experimented with mixing different paint colours together to discover what new shades and colours they could create. They enjoyed making predictions, mixing the colours and seeing the results for themselves.

Next week, we will be embracing the season with an autumn walk, looking closely at the changes we can see in our natural environment. We will also be getting busy and cooking our very own vegetable soup!

Keep an eye out for our ingredient list — we may need your help collecting some delicious vegetables!
