This week saw Reception reading the story of the Princess and the Pea which is set in Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya. We spent some time this week trying various fruits that do grow locally there. We tried avocado, mango, pear and banana. We even had a small amount of passion fruit juice and papaya juice to taste. The children really enjoyed trying some new flavours, passion fruit juice was a particular hit!

We have been looking at subitising and patterns in maths. Next week we will be starting to look at number bonds to 5.
