What a busy week in Reception this week!

We have been exploring more about Antarctica and the South Pole this week. The children really enjoyed working out what sea creatures we might see on our way there. We have spoken about penguins, whales, squid, crabs and many more!

In maths, we are learning about the order of numbers 1–5 and how we know the order they go in. We have been trying out different orders and seeing if we can tell which number is in the wrong place or missing. 

We've been learning some new sounds in phonics this week and started some handwriting practise, we will be sending some handwriting practise ideas home next week for you to try at home.

We are making a new home area in the classrooms and would love some of your family pictures or portraits, so the children can talk about their families with their friends. Please talk to your class teacher if you have a picture you would like to share, and we can tell you the easiest way to send them to us.
