Reception

World book day!
This week in Reception, we’ve had a fun and busy week of learning! In phonics, the children focused on CCVC words such as “frog,” “plan,” and “drop,” practising their reading and writing skills. They loved blending and segmenting the sounds to read words independently.
In maths, we used number frames to explore counting, comparing quantities, and spotting missing numbers. The children enjoyed using counters to see numbers in different ways and develop their early numeracy skills.
We also celebrated World Book Day with a special focus on the “Little People, Big Dreams” series. The children learnt about inspiring figures like Simone Biles, Neil Armstrong, Florence Nightingale and David Attenborough. Through stories, discussions, and role play, they discovered how these individuals achieved great things and talked about their own dreams.
Have a lovely weekend!
