Reception

Planting!
This week in Reception, we have been making the most of the spring sunshine by spending lots of time in our garden. The children have loved observing the beautiful blossom on the trees, noticing the colours and changes in our environment as the season begins to shift. We have also spent time listening carefully and watching the busy bees as they move from flower to flower, sparking lots of curiosity and thoughtful discussion.
The children particularly enjoyed getting hands-on with planting. We have planted a range of seeds, including carrots, lettuce and daffodils. Everyone showed great enthusiasm and care while working in the soil, and we are all looking forward to watching our plants grow and change over the coming weeks. These experiences have helped the children to better understand how plants grow and the importance of caring for our environment.
Next week, we are excited to begin our new learning based on the story What the Ladybird Heard. We will be exploring the tale together and going on our own mini beast hunts in the garden, looking closely at the small creatures we can find and learning more about their habitats.
Have a wonderful weekend and please don't forget to check the information about the farm that will be visiting us after Easter!
