Farm visit!

What an exciting and memorable week we’ve had in Reception!

A highlight of the week was our special farm visit to school. The children were thrilled to meet a range of animals, including sheep, a pony, a goat, and even a snake! This hands-on experience sparked lots of curiosity and conversation, and the children loved learning about how to care for animals and where they come from. Photos from this wonderful day have been uploaded to Tapestry for you to enjoy.

In maths, we have been focusing on number sentences using addition up to 5. The children have been using practical resources and games to help them understand how numbers can be combined, and they are beginning to represent their ideas using simple number sentences.

Our focus book this week has been The Extraordinary Gardener. The story inspired great discussions about perseverance, dreams, and caring for the environment. We have been watering our garden and checking for extraordinary things growing in our environment!

In our art sessions, we have been learning about the artist Romero Britto. The children explored his bold, colourful style and created their own artwork inspired by his patterns and designs. It has been fantastic to see their creativity shine!

Have a lovely weekend.
