We have started our new science topic on rocks. Today we learnt about the different types of rocks as well as their names. We carried out a hands on experiement to investigate the properties of rocks including how they feel, size and weight. We also discussed how rocks can be used for different purposes. For example why slate is used for roofing and why marble is chosen for sculptures.
