Year 3

Art - colour palettes

In Year 3, we have been exploring natural colour in our art lessons this week. Inspired by the Stone Age, the children experimented with creating colour palettes using objects found in nature such as leaves, berries, bark and acorns. We studied the different tones and textures these materials produced and used them to paint, mix and match colours for our artwork. This hands-on activity helped the children understand how early humans might have created their own pigments from the world around them, while also encouraging careful observation and creativity.
