This week in Year 4, we have been developing our writing skills by focusing on expanded noun phrases and adverbial phrases. These have helped us add detail and interest to our sentences, and have been an important step in preparing for our next independent piece of writing.

Next week, the children will be using these skills to write a descriptive piece based on a workhouse, thinking carefully about the atmosphere, setting and powerful language choices.

Year 4 are also very excited about the upcoming trip to the Polka Theatre! Please ensure that permission slips are completed and returned as soon as possible so your child can take part in the trip.
