Pre School

Our first trip to the library!

This week we took our first trip to the school library. The children walked sensibly down the corridors in pairs holding hands with their peers. At the library, the children chose books to read, and then we read a story as a class.

At carpet time we have been reading books written by Julia Donaldson and Nick Sharratt. Our first story was ‘Toddle Waddle’. The children loved listening to the stories and joining in with key phrases we have learnt, such as 'flip-flop', 'clip-clop', 'hurry scurry' and 'toddle waddle'.

Our second story was called ‘One Mole Digging A Hole’. This was a really fun story. Along the way, we meet animals who use different tools in the garden. On each page there were an increasing number of tools, to ten. This gave us an opportunity to practise our counting skills.
