Mud Kitchen

This week the children have been exploring in the mud kitchen. They have been learning how to put their puddle suits and wellies on independently. The teachers have been encouraging and supporting children to do this by narrating and helping with parts of the process of getting changed. For example, rolling up the leg of the puddle suit and putting their foot through but encouraging the children to pull the rest of the leg up.

In the mud kitchen, children have been mark making, cooking soup and cakes, and we have been teaching them to make mud faces! The children have enjoyed mixing the mud with water to make mud paint and using the right consistency to make mud faces. They have been mark making with, sticks, stones and their fingers!
