In our music lessons this term, Year 1 have been following the Charanga online music scheme with a unit called In The Groove. This is the title of a song with the same words and melody but played in a variety of musical styles, such as Blues, Baroque and Latin. In each lesson, we have listened to the song and compared it with the previous styles, played a variety of movement games to find the pulse and rhythmn and have played along with our instruments. We have also been dancing to Ricky Martin, which we have decided is very good exercise!

May we please also flag up that both Year 1 classes will be going on a short geography visit to The Triangle on the afternoon of Thursday 1st February. We will be walking in both directions and will return to school by 2.45. If you have not already given permission for local visits, please let us have your permission by Wednesday afternoon!
