Year 2

Trip to Brooklands

Last Friday, Year 2 all travelled to Brooklands Museum in Weybridge. We spent the day learning about the History of Aviation, London buses in the 70's, 90's and the present day. The children also made loopy gliders out of paper and learnt how gravity, lift and thrust of air, helps the glider stay in flight. After lunch, we used our special boarding pass and climbed aboard Concorde, saw the cockpit and sat in the seats. Finally, we went to the Aircraft Factory where we saw engineering in action, watched a mechanic who bent aluminium with special machines, and got to try our hand at sanding wood to make a propeller. We had a fantastic trip, thank you to all who helped make it a success!
