Year 2

Year 2

Over the last few weeks, Year 2 have been honing their skills in computing.  This has included learning about staying safe online, logging onto Google, using a Jamboard, searching for age appropriate websites, using links and communicating online.  Although it has been a while since most of the children have used Google Classroom regularly, the children have quickly become reacquainted with it: answering questions and commenting on the class stream.  This week they learnt how to upload some photographs to the stream, so if you go to your child's Google Classroom, you will be able to see a photograph of the fruit kebab that they made in their design technology lessons.  The children agreed that this was a great way to showcase what they have been doing in school and they also took the opportunity to give their classmates feedback on their fruit kebab.  In maths we have been learning about unit fractions, finding 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 of a number.  On Wednesday, we also had a visit from the villainous pirate, Sweet Tooth Sid.  He ran through the KS1 playground, much to our astonishment.  The children are in the process of writing a letter to another school to warn them.
