This week in Year 3, we have been learning about friction. We learnt that different surfaces can cause different amounts of friction. To help us investigate friction, we set up an experiment. We looked at how far the car travelled on different materials such as carpet, wood, plastic, sand and sponge. We carried out each test three times so it was a fair test. We were surprised to learn that sometimes friction can speed things up or slow it down.
