This week we had a visit from the Fire Brigade.  They showed us a video of what you should do if there is a fire at home and explained that you should have an escape plan in place so everyone knows what to do in the event of a fire.  We discussed ways we could detect fires including the importance of having smoke detectors around the house.  We learned that the 5 main causes of fires were cooking, candles, smoking, electricity and matches or lighters.  The children also learned how important it is for them to know their address including their post code especially if they needed to call the emergency services.
