Year 5

Hampton Court

This week we bought our learning about Tudors to life with a visit to the magnificent Hampton Court Palace. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful learning opportunity on our doorstep. We walked through the same rooms and corridors as Henry VIII as we discovered what life would have been like for a variety of people within the palace. We found out how hot the kitchens would have been with all the roaring fires and how busy the staff must have been to feed all the people in the palace. We discovered what it would have been like for the courtiers in the Great Hall knowing that every conversation would be reported back to Henry. We decided that the best person to be during Tudor times at Hampton Court is Henry. A life of parties, hunting and games sounds very tempting.
