Year 5

Black History Month

October is Black History Month. One of the things we have done to help celebrate this is to learn more about the lives of black people in Britain during Tudor times. We wanted to link this to our topic and were surprised to find there is evidence of the lives of over 200 people with links to Africa. We have learnt about the different ways they arrived in Tudor England and the types of jobs they did. We have looked at the historical evidence that tells us about their lives, including church records, court documents and wills.
