We started our new unit of science this week - Living things and their habitats. We started by casting our minds back to what we could remember from KS1 and earlier in KS2. The staff were impressed by the range of scientific vocabulary that could be recalled for the different groups in the animal kingdoms. Later in the term we will be learning about classification and how living things can be sorted by their different characteristics. We will be learning about the history of classification, will be using classification keys and making our own keys to sort and group different living organisms. This will all feed in to our next unit which is microorganisms.
