Year 6

Science- Electricity

This week in science we constructed electrical circuits, varying components to test what determines how bright a bulb is. In order to test the brightness of a bulb, we constructed a comparison circuit. Before varying components within the series circuit, we worked in a group to predict and draw out the circuit using scientific symbols. As a result of this, we were able to associate the brightness of a bulb with the number and voltage of cells used in the circuit. Applying our problem-solving skills, we then looked at a variety of circuits drawn using symbols and applied our knowledge of working circuits to determine whether the circuit was complete and would work or not. We then constructed the circuits drawn to test if we were correct or incorrect.
