Year 6

Science

In science this week we have been using our observation and questioning skills to identify how animals and plants are adapted to their environments and the importance of adaptation in order for species to survive. Looking at plants, we focused on the cactus and the special adaptations it has in order to thrive in the harsh desert environment. We discussed how animals and plants may need to adapt in the future as the climate is changing, affecting their habitats. Looking at animals, we discovered different types of animals living in either the tundra, desert or alpine regions and determined what adaptations each species had made in order to survive.

Next week we will be:

  • Showing off our knowledge in assessments

  • Continuing to write our narrative

  • Exploring and understanding the importance of copyright
